Compendium Contributes To High Performance Computing Conference

June 19, 2001
Biloxi, MS

Compendium Technologies' contributions to the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) toolkit were highlighted in a paper presented today at the Department of Defense (DoD) High Performance Computing (HPC) Users Group Conference (UGC) in Biloxi, MS. Compendium wrote portions of the paper and the presentation, assisting SPAWAR Systems Center (SSC-SD) and the Applied Research Laboratory at Pennsylvania State University (ARL PSU) in presenting the paper. SSC-SD was the lead author.

E3 Toolkit Presentation at HPC UGC 2001Development of the distributed pieces of the E3 Toolkit are underway at Compendium's Mission Valley office in San Diego. Compendium is responsible for electromagnetic volume task distribution and optimized scheduling across many HPC nodes, as well as collecting volume inputs and visualizing results. The resulting software will scale over hundreds or even thousands of computing nodes on HPC platforms such as the IBM SP3, SGI Origin, and Beowulf clusters. The languages and technologies used include Java, C++, Fortran, and CORBA. The E3 Toolkit will eventually provide the warfighter with advanced, high fidelity, near real time radio frequency (RF) battle space modeling and simulation tools. Compendium is also building software decision aid tools which will take operator inputs, visualize and manage the RF battlespace.

E3 Toolkit Presentation at HPC UGC 2001 The UGC paper and presentation and the E3 Toolkit are the latest in a series of collaborations between Compendium, SSC-SD and ARL PSU. Other software development efforts include Information Warfare Tactical Decision Aids based on RF propagation models.
